Live TV for Android
We led the development of the first shared-source TV Input Service for Android TV, integrating broadcast middleware into the AOSP architecture. This work underpins the DTVKit reference implementation for Android, now deployed in millions of devices across multiple brands and OEMs.
TV Browsers
Ocean Blue Software delivers embedded browser solutions for smart TV and broadcast environments. Our teams develop and extend Chromium and WebKit based browsers and created the Open Red Button (ORB) project to support HbbTV, Freely and BBC iPlayer requirements.

Chromium features for HbbTV
We implemented a number of enhancements to Chromium to support HbbTV on Android. These included integrating Chromium as an Android background service, rendering from the service to client application surfaces, adding DRM support (such as PlayReady) and enabling in-frame broadcast video playback. The solution was designed to maintain compatibility with both AOSP and Google TV requirements.

Smart TV platform for MENA
We led the definition and delivery of OROO, a smart TV operating system and lead device for the MENA region, in partnership with El Araby Group. Designed as an Arabic-first platform, OROO was tailored to regional language, cultural expectations and market requirements. The programme included a custom RDK-based platform, React-based user experience and cloud infrastructure to enable personalisation and advertising monetisation.
