OBS provides testing, pre-certification and certification services for Smart TV devices and platforms. As an approved HbbTV test centre, we provide certification services for both HbbTV and OpApp.

**Approved HbbTV Test Centre**: OBS operates an approved HbbTV Test Centre, enabling official conformance testing for HbbTV 1.5, 2.0, and 2.0.4 implementations with the latest reference hardware and software.

**TV Standards & Regional Operators**: OBS supports broadcast and regional operator approval through targeted testing or fully managed certification programmes, including DVB, CI+, HbbTV, UK and EU regional operator requirements, BBC iPlayer and Freely.

### TV Middleware — Broadcast & Connected TV Middleware

OBS provides Live TV middleware for European and other DVB-based markets, supporting millions of deployed devices. Solutions are built on DTVKit, developed in portable C and C++ and available on a royalty-free, shared-source basis.

**DVB**: Standards-based DVB stack for satellite (DVB-S/S2), terrestrial (DVB-T/T2), cable (DVB-C), and IP services. Supports DVB, DTG D-Book, NorDig, and regional European specifications with reference integrations for Android, RDK and Linux. Comprehensive SI/PSI parsing, advanced channel scanning, Teletext, DVB Subtitles and Closed Captions.

**CI+**: CI+ 1.4 (with Enhanced Content Protection for UHD/4K) and CI+ 2.0 (USB CAM) middleware. Deployed in millions of devices with multiple certified products. Includes TEE integration and certification support.

**HbbTV & OpApp**: HbbTV 2.0.4 and OpApp browser for Android, RDK and Linux. Supports Freely. Can be added to existing WebKit and Chromium-based browsers or deployed as turnkey solutions. Based on the ORB open-source project.

**DSM-CC**: Full DSM-CC object carousel implementation for HbbTV and OpApp broadcast application delivery.

**DVB-I**: DVB standard for IP-based service discovery and delivery, enabling hybrid broadcast-broadband service discovery across terrestrial, satellite, cable, and IP networks.

**ATSC & ATSC 3.0**: Proven ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 software stacks for TV and set-top box platforms. ATSC 3.0 enables IP-based delivery, advanced emergency alerting, interactive services and next-generation audio/video capabilities. Modular and optimised for leading SoCs.

**ISDB**: ISDB-T/Tb middleware for Japanese and South American markets, supporting Ginga interactive middleware and one-seg mobile reception.

**RDK**: Deep expertise in RDK integration, managing complex build environments and the full software lifecycle. Platform bring-up, component integration, feature customisation, performance optimisation, branching strategy, CI, certification, and long-term support.

**Operator-Branded TV**: Complete Operator-Branded TV solution with RedSquid. Operator brand as primary UX, backed by system-level middleware and cloud infrastructure. Full OEM bring-up, middleware and maintenance.

**OORO**: Primary architect behind OORO, the first Arabic-first, monetised Smart TV platform for the MENA region. Built on DTVKit's open-source stack in partnership with Elaraby Group. Includes data-driven advertising and monetisation model.

### Test Tooling — Automated Testing & Inspection Tools

**Axia HbbTV Harness**: Automated, comprehensive HbbTV test harness supporting the latest HbbTV Test Suite, OpApp and Freely. 59% fully automated, 32% semi-automated, 9% manual. CI/CD integration, IR or command-line remote control, custom scripting, power cycling, network shaping, video/audio/log capture.

**AI Automation Framework**: General-purpose test automation framework with AI capabilities for TV testing and validation beyond HbbTV-specific requirements.

**DVB-I Inspector**: Inspection tooling for analysing and debugging DVB-I service discovery and delivery.

**ATSC 3.0 Inspector**: Inspection tooling for analysing and debugging ATSC 3.0 signals, including ROUTE/DASH sessions, service signalling and interactive content delivery.

## Open Source & Shared Source

**ORB (Open Red Button)**: Created and led by Ocean Blue Software, launched 2021, the only mass-deployed open-source HbbTV solution. Runs on Android, RDK and Linux, with turnkey Chromium builds for Android and Linux and WebKit for RDK. Provides a flexible foundation for adding HbbTV to existing browsers. Commercial ORB deployments, including Android, are delivered by Ocean Blue Software, who provide the additional browser patches, DRM, OpApp support and platform integration that production devices require.

**DTVKit**: Established by OBS in 2013. Core DVB, CI Plus, HbbTV and MHEG middleware available to members on a royalty-free, shared-source basis. Over 30 member companies and millions of deployed devices.
