Horizon is Ocean Blue's suite of Connected-TV software products, offering advanced, fully integrated, digital TV capabilities.
Ocean Blue's DLNA-based digital TV solution has been achieved through a partnership with leading technology solutions provider Rovi (Formerly Macrovision).
We integrated Rovi's Connected Platform SDK to our mature DVB software stack, Sunrise, to create a turnkey connected-TV software solution.
Using the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) specification, Ocean Blue's solution, when embedded into a digital TV device, will enable end-users to access digital content from a networked and DLNA-enabled server from any TV in the home.
The technology is based upon Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network protocols which allow media devices to connect seamlessly and automatically.
Shared content such as videos, photos and audio files stored on a remote server can be retrieved and played from the TV. Movie clips can be viewed, paused, re-wound or fast forwarded. The media files can be divided into genre and rated according to user preference.
